Article Submission Guidelines

Thank you for your interest in submitting an article to the Comox Valley Health and Recreation Guide. Please review the following guidelines before sending in your article submission.

Submission Deadlines

The articles must reach the publisher before these dates:

  • Spring Issue: February 1st
  • Summer Issue: May 1st
  • Fall Issue: August 1st
  • Winter Issue: November 1st

The Article

We are looking for articles to inspire, inform, and offer practical information on health and recreation. Please keep the length of articles 300 to 1000 words or less. No advertorials will be accepted unless discussed with publisher.

Your article will be edited for grammar, punctuation, spelling and usage. usage. It is not our practice to contact you about editorial changes of this nature.

There is NO Guarantee that an article will be printed unless by prior arrangement with the publisher.

Submission Format

Please submit your article as an email attachment to alg1@telus.net using the following format:

  • Title
  • Author's name, credentials if applicable
  • Text to be submitted in Microsoft Word format, single spaced. Please clear any prior formatting and submit photos as separate attachments.
  • Photos: 300 dpi resolution
  • Closing paragraph: a brief bio (no more than two lines), stating your name and where you can be reached (telephone number or website if applicable). Closing paragraphs that exceed two lines may be shortened at the discretion of the editor/publisher.

In your E-mail

  • Full contact information: Valid e-mail address, telephone number and Website if applicable.
  • Subject Line: Include your name and which issue you would like your article to appear in.
